Dallas: The Dallas Mavericks, a top team in the NBA, have announced the departure of head coach Jason Kidd. The Mavericks have parted ways with Kidd by mutual agreement, despite him having four years remaining on his $40 million contract, which he had just signed in the summer of 2025.
According to Thai News Agency, this decision follows significant changes within the team's management. The Mavericks had experienced a decline in performance after a pivotal trade involving Luka Doncic in February 2025. Under Kidd's leadership, the team initially achieved a win percentage of .563 and reached the Finals in the 2023/24 season. However, post-trade, the win percentage dropped to .339, indicating challenges following the roster changes.
The Mavericks have recently seen a management overhaul, marked by the dismissal of previous general manager Nico Harrison. In addition to Jason Kidd's departure, Matt Riccardi, who served as Co-GM this season, has also left the team. In early May, Masai Ujiri was appointed as the club president, tasked with overseeing various aspects of the club's management.
