Cultural Docuseries Explores Mien/Yao People’s Healing Rituals

Bangkok:Channel 9 The program "From Womb to Tomb" will feature the Mien/Yao people's healing rituals with "Tak-Napassaran Mitthiroj" on October 4th.

According to Thai News Agency, the episode titled "Herbs of Faith The Mien/Yao People" will delve into the unique healing rituals of the Mien community. These rituals blend ancestral spirit beliefs with herbal knowledge, involving shamans who conduct ceremonies to call back spirits, set up ancestor worship altars, and perform dances and chants to appease spirits that protect the family.

The Mien healing practices are considered a deep process for healing the body, mind, and spirit. Kinship in the Mien community extends beyond blood relations to include spiritual connections with ancestors and other ethnic groups in their communities. The program, supported by the Safe and Creative Media Development Fund, airs every Saturday and Sunday at 1030 AM on Channel 9.
