Bangkok: CIBA DPU, in collaboration with the Department of Business Development, is hosting a business skills competition for students, with participants vying for five trophies bestowed by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The initiative aims to provide students with real-world experience and enhance their potential for future business careers.
According to Thai News Agency, the College of Innovative Business Administration and Accountancy (CIBA) at Dhurakij Pundit University (DPU), in partnership with the Department of Business Development, Ministry of Commerce, organized the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Royal Trophy Competition for the 2025 academic year. The opening ceremony was presided over by Dr. Darika Lathpipat, President of Dhurakij Pundit University, and Mr. Sathaporn Ruamnapaya, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Business Development, with participation from executives, faculty members, teachers, and students at the DPU Chalermprakiat Building.
Dr. Darika Lathpipat highlighted that the competition aligns with DPU's policy of fostering skills in critical thinking, teamwork, and business decision-making among students. She expressed gratitude to the Department of Business Development, Ministry of Commerce, and partner organizations for their support in organizing the competition, and encouraged students to learn and develop from this experience.
Mr. Sathaporn Ruamnapaya stated that the project demonstrates DPU's commitment to developing business, innovation, and entrepreneurial skills among Thai youth. He emphasized that the competition serves as a platform for practical learning and problem-solving, essential in the digital economy, and urged students to use the opportunity to showcase their potential and contribute to society.
Associate Professor Wasukarn Visalsawasdi, Dean of CIBA at DPU, explained that the competition includes four projects: the 4th "Innovative and Sustainable Business Management Simulation Game," the 2nd "Business Model and Sustainable Business Branding," the 3rd "GenZ Biz-Investor Simulated Stock Trading Competition," and the 11th "Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Accountancy Quiz Competition." The events took place from January 27-30, 2026, with participation from 106 educational institutions and 981 competitors.
The competition aims to develop business, innovation, and entrepreneurial skills, offering students a platform for learning through simulations and teamwork. The activities focus on applying knowledge in various business disciplines to solve real-world challenges, and the event is designed to cultivate crucial skills for students' future studies and careers.
The winners of the competitions received trophies from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and other distinguished figures, along with scholarships for further education at CIBA DPU. All winning teams also received cash prizes. The event featured various competitions, each recognizing top-performing teams in different categories, emphasizing the application of strategic thinking and teamwork.
