Bangkok: "Chuwit" has expressed admiration for "Somsak" as a candidate for the Interior Minister position, noting that there is currently one ministry left unappointed. He also commented on the growing influence of Chinese gangs in Thailand, suggesting that inevitable challenges lie ahead.
According to Thai News Agency, the remarks were made during a wedding ceremony between Mr. Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, a former Minister of the Prime Minister's Office, and Ms. Kathleen Malinenont, a third-generation heir of the Malinenont family, held at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Bangkok. During the event, Mr. Chuwit Kamolsit took a moment to acknowledge Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, for his service to the country and expressed his desire to see Mr. Suriya continue his efforts.
When questioned about his future intentions, Mr. Chuwit indicated a desire to return to a political role, though he acknowledged the improbability of becoming a minister. He remarked that his past experiences were sufficient for him.
Moreover, Mr. Chuwit conveyed a message to Mrs. Anongwan Thepsuthin, the wife of Mr. Somsak Thepsuthin, who currently serves as the Minister of Public Health. He expressed his respect and support for Mr. Somsak, suggesting that he would be an ideal candidate for the Interior Minister position, noting that it is the only ministry Mr. Somsak has yet to lead.
In his comments, Mr. Chuwit also addressed the issue of Chinese criminal organizations expanding their presence in Thailand. He conveyed a resigned acceptance of the situation, emphasizing the importance of maintaining health and resilience amidst the country's challenges. He remarked on the harsh reality of Thai politics, where those who falter face further difficulties.
