Chaiyaphum Wind Farm Wins Prestigious National Social Activities Award


Chaiyaphum: Chaiyaphum Wind Farm, a wind power plant within the EGCO Group, has been honored with the “Outstanding Organization with Social Activities, Business Organization Category, Year 2025” award. This accolade was presented during a ceremony recognizing exceptional volunteers and organizations that excel in social activities, held on National Social Welfare Day and Thai Volunteer Day, organized by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security alongside the National Council on Social Welfare of Thailand under Royal Patronage.



According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Wichan Sripairoj, Senior Executive Vice President of Power Plant Management at Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO Group), highlighted that Chaiyaphum Wind Farm, situated in Sap Yai District, Chaiyaphum Province, commenced commercial operations in 2016. With EGCO Group holding a full stake, the company has executed comprehensive community, social, and environmental development projects, earning recognition at the local level. The Chaiyaphum Provincial Social Development and Human Security Office nominated the company for the national award, making it the first private entity in Chaiyaphum Province to achieve this distinction, a prideful accomplishment for both the province and the organization.



The Chaiyaphum Wind Farm Power Plant is dedicated to generating clean energy, bolstering energy security, and contributing to the nation’s low-carbon goals. The plant emphasizes coexistence with local communities, society, and the environment in a beneficial manner. This approach aims to enhance the quality of life for nearby communities, foster social responsibility among employees, regularly communicate operational outcomes, and engage in knowledge sharing with other organizations for ongoing social advancement. Among the noteworthy CSR initiatives are:



– Upgrading roads from laterite to compacted gravel to facilitate safer and more convenient travel for the community and improve agricultural product transportation.



– Assisting in the expansion of electricity lines to ensure every household receives power access.



– Collaborating on the construction of water retention weirs and developing village water supply systems to provide communities with adequate water resources.



– Supporting the transition from monoculture to mixed-crop agriculture to create sustainable income for the community.
