Bangkok: "Chaiyachanok" maintains his innocence amidst allegations from "Ice" regarding the alleged rigging of TH-AI PASSPORT specifications.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chaiyachanok Chidchob, the Minister of Digital Economy and Society, addressed the complaint filed by Ms. Rakchanok Srinok, a party-list MP from the People's Party. The complaint, submitted to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), accuses Mr. Chaiyachanok and executives of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society of allegedly manipulating the specifications of the TH-AI PASSPORT project. Mr. Chaiyachanok expressed his awareness of the situation and his lack of concern, emphasizing that he had not violated any laws and saw no need to file a countersuit. He acknowledged the opposition's role in scrutinizing government actions while affirming that the government operates within the legal framework, despite any communication issues.
Mr. Chaiyachanok also commented on the nature of political discourse, noting that disrespectful and intimidating behavior might arise from individual personalities. He stressed that while some individuals might feel offended or uncooperative, the Ministry has adhered to legal protocols.
Addressing the political focus on the TH-AI PASSPORT, Mr. Chaiyachanok stated that perspectives might vary, with some viewing it as a target. He sees the situation as an opportunity to draw public attention and enhance understanding of the project. He hopes that increased awareness will encourage public participation. Despite the attention, Mr. Chaiyachanok has not personally registered for the project, preferring to reserve the opportunity for those in greater need.
Regarding comparisons between the TH-AI PASSPORT and its free counterpart, Mr. Chaiyachanok clarified that investigations revealed the free version to be inferior due to its limitations in token usage and question scope. He refuted claims that the free version was superior.
