Hat yai: Central Pattana Public Company Limited (CPN) has taken a significant step towards aiding flood victims by establishing the "Thais Unite at Central Flood Disaster Command Center" at Central Hat Yai Shopping Center. This initiative is aimed at coordinating and distributing aid effectively during the ongoing flood crisis in the region.
According to Thai News Agency, the command center is a collaborative effort involving various partners and serves as a comprehensive hub for public assistance. The Central Group has mobilized resources, including vehicles to transport and distribute donated items throughout the Hat Yai area, enhancing the reach and efficiency of relief efforts.
The Thai Flood Disaster Command Center at Central is structured to execute a multi-faceted relief mission. The center features a hotline for coordination, a relief transit hub for distributing donated items to shelters, a central kitchen providing food and water, and a car storage service for safeguarding over 800 registered vehicles. Additionally, essential retail spaces have been opened, and an animal rescue center has been established to aid in the evacuation of pets.
Numerous partners have joined this initiative, including the 4th Army Area Forward Command, Prince of Songkla University, and the Hat Yai Songkhla Hotel Association. Contributions also come from MP Manit Phawasutthi, Downtown Mc Thailand, Babies Genius Hatyai, St. John Ambulance of Malaysia, and various private sectors, demonstrating a strong community effort in supporting flood victims.
Central shopping centers nationwide have opened donation points under the "Thai Ruam Jai Tee Central" initiative to collect and deliver aid to the flood-affected areas. Central Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat serve as key collection points, forwarding donations to Central Hat Yai and other impacted regions. Essential items such as rice, dried food, water, and medicine are being collected, with more information available via the Central Call Center or local shopping center Facebook pages.
CentralPlaza Nakhon Si Thammarat has also extended support by providing relief bags to employees affected by the floods. Furthermore, CPN has partnered with the Raks Thai Foundation to establish additional donation points at select Central shopping centers, reinforcing a network of support to ensure the swift and sustained delivery of aid to the southern provinces.
