Thailand’s Global Capacity for 29th ISSCT Congress

The 29th Congress of International Society of Sugar Cane Technologists (ISSCT) raised its curtain at Chiang Mai Exhibition and Convention Center in Chiang Mai, northern Thai city. As Thailand is currently the world’s second largest exporter of sugar, Thailand Society of Sugar Cane Technologists (TSSCT) is supported by a total of 11 organizations in organizing the four-day event between 5 and 8 December, 2016. It is expected that the congress attracts around 1,200 exhibitors and delegates from 60 countries. The supporters of TSSCT are from private, academic and government sectors, including Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB). The country’s global level capacity in sugar production has been a huge plus for the conference’s program because the host can organize post-conference site visits to sugar-exporting factories and crop research center around the country for overseas delegates, apart from the academic content and exhibitions showcasing technology of sugar cane planting and sugar production at the conference center.
