Cambodian Nationals Detained for Illegal Entry into Thailand

Bangkok: Reporters reported that at the 4th Border Patrol Police Regiment, officers have taken Cambodian nationals who illegally entered Thailand into custody, will be prosecuted according to the law, and will be sent to court before being prepared to deport them. Border Patrol Police officials stated that the arrests took place on the road connecting Ang Sila Village and Nong Chan Village, in Area 47-48. The arrests were made through a minefield and covered in tall trees. The Cambodian guides were gradually approaching the area. Officers observed the area and waited for them to arrive at once before making the arrests.

According to Thai News Agency, most of the Cambodian workers arrested this time had previously worked in Thailand, including in Sa Kaeo, Pathum Thani, Soi Kleep Mu, Khlong Sam Wa District, Bangkok, Nonthaburi, and Nakhon Pathom provinces, before being recalled by the Cambodian government. Over the past two weeks, security forces have been able to continuously apprehend Cambodians illegally entering Thailand in the area of Border Patrol Police Region 4.

On September 30, 2025, 51 Cambodians were arrested. On October 2, 57 people were arrested, 44 of whom were Cambodians, including 13 Thais, who claimed to have been tricked into working as employees/call centers.
