Call center gang targets Chiang Mai students

University students in Chiang Mai are now being targeted by a call center gang. In the past two months, dozens have fallen victim to a gang using personal information to deceive and threaten their parents into creating fake stories about scholarships and ransom. Some have lost up to 4 million baht, including the latest victim, a medical student and his family, who opened up after being deceived out of more than 1 million baht, to serve as a warning to society.
