Bangkok: The Cabinet has tasked Bowornsak Uwanno, the Deputy Prime Minister, with reviewing draft Cabinet resolutions and screening related legal matters before these are submitted to Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. This decision was made during a special Cabinet meeting chaired by the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
According to Thai News Agency, the Cabinet has resolved to assign the Deputy Prime Minister or the Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office to oversee the review of draft resolutions. This role also includes screening legal cases involving the Cabinet, such as proceedings in the Administrative Court and the Constitutional Court where the Cabinet or its members are defendants.
The appointed minister will be responsible for ensuring that all legal proceedings related to Cabinet resolutions comply with the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand. This includes matters concerning laws at the level of Acts and Royal Decrees. Once the Cabinet has considered, approved, or issued an order on any matter, it will draft a resolution for review and certification by the designated minister.
The review process is designed to ensure the resolutions are communicated accurately to the relevant agencies and individuals for compliance or further action. Through this meticulous examination, the Cabinet aims to uphold legal integrity and ensure the thorough consideration of the Prime Minister.
