Government House, 8 Oct. - Cabinet approves appointment of "Chatchai Bangchuad" as new Secretary-General of the National Security Council, pushing "Jirayu" to become government spokesman. Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, Advisor to the Prime Minister and Acting Government Spokesperson, announced the results of the Cabinet meeting that the Cabinet meeting resolved to appoint Mr. Chatchai Bangchuad, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Security Council, as the new Secretary-General of the National Security Council (NSC), as proposed by Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense. In addition, the Cabinet has resolved to appoint and transfer 25 high-ranking civil servants from the Ministry of Interior, including director-general and provincial governor positions, such as Mr. Chaiwat Junthiraphong, director-general of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, to be director-general of the Department of Provincial Administration, and the Cabinet has also approved the appointment of Mr. Jirayu Huangsap to the position of spokesman for the Prime Minister's Office. -317 - Thai News Agency Source: Thai News Agency
