Bangkok: Today's cabinet meeting concluded with several significant resolutions involving the appointments and transfers of key government officials, as well as the initiation of flood relief efforts. The Cabinet has appointed Chatchai Bangchawad, the current Secretary-General of the National Security Council, as the Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Lalida Periswiwatana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced the decisions regarding the transfer of civil servants to the role of Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office. The Cabinet approved the proposal to transfer Mr. Chatchai Bangchawad from his current position to the new role, effective from October 1, 2026, upon the date of the royal appointment.
Additionally, the Cabinet resolved to appoint 20 civil servants to senior administrative positions within the Ministry of Interior. These appointments, proposed by the Ministry of Interior, involve several key figures. Mr. Chamroen Wanphet has been moved from Governor of Surin Province to Deputy Permanent Secretary, while Mr. Rattapol Naradisorn transitions from Governor of Chiang Mai Province to Deputy Permanent Secretary.
Further changes include the appointment of Mr. Anupong Suksomnit as Deputy Permanent Secretary, moving from his role as Governor of Nakhon Ratchasima Province, and Ms. Arocha Nanthamontri, who shifts from Governor of Nakhon Pathom Province to Deputy Permanent Secretary. Other notable appointments involve Mr. Theerut Supavibulphol, Mr. Somchai Leelanoi, and Mr. Nirat Pongsitthithavorn to various senior executive roles across different departments.
