Nakhon Si Thammarat: In a shocking incident, Mr. Chaiwat, aged 31, used a machete to fatally attack Ms. Thirawan, aged 34, in front of her home in Lak Chang Subdistrict, Chang Klang District. The violent confrontation, which occurred at noon, left the local community in disbelief as the suspect fled the scene on a motorcycle before being apprehended. Initial investigations have yet to uncover the specific motive behind the brutal attack. According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Col. Pongpichan Chayanonphiriya, Superintendent of Chang Klang Police Station, has been actively questioning witnesses to gain further insight into the incident. It was revealed that the suspect had previously worked as a rubber tapper for the victim. During his tenure, latex was reportedly stolen on multiple occasions, leading to suspicion from the deceased that Mr. Chaiwat was the culprit. The victim allegedly shared her suspicions with other villagers, which angered the suspect and led to an escalation in their conflict. The tension be tween the two had previously resulted in heated arguments and nearly a physical altercation. On the day of the incident, their paths crossed by chance in a rubber plantation, reigniting their dispute. In a fit of rage, Mr. Chaiwat attacked Ms. Thirawan, resulting in her untimely death.
