Brutal Machete Attack Leads to Arrest in Nakhon Si Thammarat.

Nakhon Si Thammarat: A shocking incident unfolded in the Chang Klang District of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, where a brutal attack with a machete led to the tragic death of a 34-year-old woman, Ms. Thirawan. The incident occurred in front of a villager's house in Village 5, Lak Chang Subdistrict, before noon today. The suspect, identified as Mr. Chaiwat, also known as 'Big', was swiftly apprehended by police three hours after the crime. According to Thai News Agency, witnesses captured the horrifying moment when Mr. Chaiwat, approximately 31 years old, relentlessly attacked his neighbor, Ms. Thirawan, with a machete. The attack left her with a fatal head wound and a severely mangled arm. Ms. Arisa, the girlfriend of Ms. Thirawan, narrowly escaped the scene, while Mr. Chaiwat fled on a motorcycle. Witnesses reported that prior to the attack, Mr. Chaiwat was seen chasing both Ms. Thirawan and Ms. Arisa from a nearby rubber plantation. Ms. Thirawan ran toward villagers for help, while Ms. Arisa took another route. Unfortunately, Mr. Chaiwat caught up with Ms. Thirawan in front of a house and carried out the deadly assault. Authorities managed to locate and arrest Mr. Chaiwat in the vicinity of Mai Riang Police Station, Chawang District, along with the motorcycle he used to flee the scene. During the initial interrogation, Mr. Chaiwat confessed to the crime but claimed he could not recall the number of times he struck his victim. He admitted to slashing continuously until he lost count but did not disclose any motive for the attack. Relatives of Mr. Chaiwat suggested that the attack might have stemmed from personal anger. They also mentioned his past involvement with drug use, although he had never previously exhibited such extreme behavior requiring hospitalization.
