BG Pathum United and True Bangkok United Triumph in AFC Champions League Matches


Bangkok: BG Pathum United and True Bangkok United emerged victorious in their respective AFC Champions League fixtures, securing crucial wins in the tournament.



According to Thai News Agency, in the third match of Group H, BG Pathum United faced Kaya FC from the Philippines. Both teams had previously suffered two consecutive losses. The breakthrough for BG Pathum came in the 10th minute when Jordan Emmawiwe skillfully maneuvered past the goalkeeper with a left-footed shot, giving his team a 1-0 lead. Later, in the 69th minute of the second half, Tomoyuki Doi executed a precise right-footed shot from the edge of the penalty area. The ball ricocheted off both posts before finding the net, sealing a 2-0 victory for BG Pathum United. This win marked their first victory and earned them their first 3 points in the competition, while Kaya FC faced their third consecutive defeat.



In another Group H encounter, Tampines Rovers from Singapore hosted Pohang Steelers from South Korea. The home team scored an astonishing goal just 15 seconds into the match, courtesy of Hide Higashikawa. This rapid goal secured a 1-0 win for Tampines, marking their third consecutive victory and putting them at the top of the group with 9 points. Pohang Steelers, on the other hand, have accumulated 6 points.



In Group G, True Bangkok United clashed with Lions City Sailors from Singapore. True Bangkok secured their victory with a penalty kick converted by Omani national team striker Musaen Al Ghassani in the 63rd minute. This 1-0 win elevated True Bangkok to 6 points, moving them up to second place in the group standings, while Lions City Sailors remain in third place with 4 points.



Another Group G match featured Persib Bandung from Indonesia facing Selangor FC from Malaysia. Adam Alis gave Persib Bandung a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute with a right-footed shot from outside the penalty area. In the second half, Andrew Jung extended the lead with a penalty goal in the 66th minute, resulting in a 2-0 victory for Persib Bandung. This win placed them at the top of the group with 7 points, while Selangor FC suffered their third consecutive defeat in the tournament.
