Bangkok: "Bew" Puripol Boonsorn's impressive track record continues to capture the attention of the Sports Authority of Thailand, which is optimistic about his prospects of clinching another medal at the upcoming Asian Games. According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Kongsak Yodmani, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), announced that anticipation is building among Thai sports enthusiasts as they gear up to support their athletes at the 20th Asian Games. The games are scheduled to take place from September 19th to October 4th, 2026, in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The SAT has ensured that T SPORTS 7, along with several other digital TV partners, will provide free and comprehensive coverage, allowing fans to enjoy live broadcasts of popular sports such as men's football and women's volleyball.
Dr. Kongsak emphasized that athletics remains a core sport and a major attraction for Thai fans at the Asian Games. Among the athletes, Puripol Boonsorn stands out due to his exceptional performances. Earlier this year, Puripol trained in Prague, Czech Republic, and achieved a remarkable feat by running the 100 meters in under 10 seconds, clocking a time of 9.99 seconds. This achievement boosts confidence in his potential to secure another medal.
Puripol Boonsorn has already made history in Thai athletics. At the 33rd Southeast Asian Games held in Thailand in late 2025, he earned a gold medal in the men's 100-meter race with a qualifying time of 9.94 seconds. Furthermore, he showcased his talent at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, in 2023, where he secured a silver medal in the 100-meter race with a time of 10.02 seconds.
