Bangkok: The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) reports a significant turnout for advance voting, with 87.60% of voters participating outside their districts and 96.47% within their districts.
According to Thai News Agency, the BMA highlighted robust voter participation, with citizens expressing their commitment to the democratic process and providing feedback to enhance future election management.
Mr. Narong Ruangsri, Permanent Secretary of Bangkok, stated that advance voting was conducted at 50 central polling stations across the city. The process was executed smoothly, with officials effectively managing and facilitating the voting procedure.
Out of 845,853 registered voters for advance voting outside their districts, 740,966 individuals cast their votes, translating to 87.60%. For those voting within their districts, 2,650 of 2,747 registered voters participated, marking a turnout of 96.47%. This demonstrates the high level of democratic engagement among Bangkok residents.
The top five central polling stations with the highest percentages of advance voters outside their constituencies were Nong Khaem District Office, Samphanthawong District Office, Phra Nakhon District Office parking lot, Siam Technological College in Bangkok Yai District, and Ratchathewi District Office.
Moreover, the leading locations for advance voters outside their constituencies included Tawanna Bangkapi project in Bangkapi district, Chandrakasem Rajabhat University in Chatuchak District, the temporary parking lot at Lat Krabang District Office, Huai Khwang district office area, and Sports Complex 1 and 2 at Bangkok Youth Center in Din Daeng District.
All advance voting envelopes for voters outside their registered districts have been successfully dispatched to Thailand Post Co., Ltd. The company will deliver them to the respective polling districts in preparation for the general election vote counting on Sunday, February 8, 2026.
The BMA expressed gratitude to all voters and officials who contributed to the seamless execution of the voting process. The administration has been actively monitoring feedback through social media, noting positive responses regarding convenience and orderliness, while also acknowledging suggestions for improving transportation and traffic conditions in some areas. The BMA plans to incorporate this feedback to enhance the election process on February 8, 2026.
