Bangkok: The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has initiated discussions to ensure a smooth general election process for Members of Parliament in early February 2026, covering all 33 constituencies.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Thanit Tanbuakli, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Bangkok, together with directors from all 50 districts and relevant personnel, met with Mr. Sampan Saengkhamlert, Director of the Bangkok Metropolitan Election Commission Office, and his team. The meeting focused on Bangkok's role in supporting the election process.
Mr. Thanit expressed that the meeting was urgent and highlighted their readiness to manage the upcoming election with order, transparency, and fairness. He mentioned that candidate registration is expected to open in late December 2025, with the election date set for early February 2026.
The meeting addressed several preparatory aspects, including the appointment of election committees and directors for each district, establishment of district coordination centers, determination of registration and polling locations, arrangements for persons with disabilities and the elderly, staff training, preparation of election materials and equipment, and the collection of ballots before and after election day. The BMA is committed to assisting the Bangkok Election Commission in managing the election, ensuring that citizens can vote conveniently, safely, and efficiently.
