Bangkok: A committee has been formed to investigate the firearms case linked to “Mingchen Shan,” and two Bangkok Metropolitan Police officers have been found to be involved. The Bangkok Metropolitan Police have established a committee to uncover the facts surrounding firearms associated with “Mingchen Shan.” Two police officers from Metropolitan Police Division 2 are implicated, and police are urgently summoning them for questioning regarding the origin of the weapons and other evidence.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Maj. Gen. Kiatikul Sonthinern, Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 2, revealed details regarding the discovery of police firearms in the possession of Mr. Mingchen Shan. He stated that the Metropolitan Police Commander ordered the formation of a fact-finding committee, chaired by Pol. Col. Thanakrit Booncharoen, Deputy Commander of the Metropolitan Police Division 2. The investigation will involve summoning all involved parties for questioning to clarify the origin of the firearms and examine relevant evidence. Those accused will be required to provide explanations.
Within the jurisdiction of Metropolitan Police Division 2, two police officers are implicated: a deputy inspector from Sai Mai Police Station, who owns the firearm, and an inspector from the Investigation Division of Metropolitan Police Division 2. Other individuals outside the division are still under investigation. Currently, the two implicated officers are continuing their duties pending the committee’s findings.
