The police are also coordinating with the Gold Traders Association to adjust security measures following the election. According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, Commander of the Bangkok Metropolitan Police, revealed the progress in the case of a man who robbed a gold shop inside a shopping mall in Sukhumvit Soi 50, an area under the jurisdiction of Phra Khanong Police Station. He stated that police are currently mobilizing all units to track down the perpetrator, reviewing CCTV footage to trace his escape route. Investigations indicate that the suspect had surveyed the area several days prio r to the crime, suggesting he is familiar with the location. CCTV footage suggests he is currently hiding in abandoned areas, possibly not his usual residence. Furthermore, he is reportedly monitoring information released to the media, preventing him from returning home and suggesting he may be hiding under bridges or in other abandoned areas near the crime scene. It is expected that apprehending him may take some time. While no arrest warrant has been issued yet, the police know the suspect's identity and are in the process of gathering old evidence to support their investigation. Meanwhile, following the election, Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam also contacted the Gold Traders Association in Bangkok to discuss joint measures for security measures, given the significant increase in gold prices.
