Bangkok:The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is focusing its efforts on water pumping in the city's eastern areas to address flooding concerns before extending assistance to surrounding villages and communities.
According to Thai News Agency, Bangkok Deputy Governor Wisanu Trapsompol provided an update on the current flooding situation, highlighting that officials are working tirelessly to improve conditions. The situation is seeing improvement, notably in Lat Krabang and Rom Klao, where efforts are concentrated on clearing roads to allow smaller vehicles to pass safely.
The relief operations are set to gradually expand to include areas such as Min Buri and Nong Chok. In these locations, water pumps are being deployed to expedite drainage from regions where water is receding slowly, channeling it through smaller and larger canals.
Certain large communities and villages still require close monitoring due to persistent high water levels. This is attributed to limited drainage channels. Urgent measures are needed to open waterways and enhance the number of pumps to facilitate quicker water drainage from these affected areas.
