Bangchak Group joins hands with BAFS and BPT to pilot the addition of SAF into the pipeline system

Bangchak Group reaffirms readiness as SAF production leader, joins hands with BAFS and BPT to pilot SAF pipeline system to Suvarnabhumi-Don Mueang International Airports. Mr. Chaiwat Kovavisarach, Chief Executive Officer of Bangchak Group and President of Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, and executives of Bangchak Group, together with Mr. Jaksanit Krissadajai, Executive Vice President, Accounting and Finance, Bangkok Aviation Fuel Services Public Company Limited (BAFS), and Mr. Jessada Tupiya, Managing Director of BAFS Pipeline Transportation Limited (BPT), jointly presided over the pilot project of adding sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) into the pipeline system to Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang Airports, preparing the aviation industry, both domestic and international airlines in the alliance group, to add SAF, supporting the aviation industry in achieving the goal of zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and promoting Thailand's air transport system to meet standards in line with the Internationa l Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA). This collaboration involves blending SAF with jet fuel (Jet A1) and piloting the pipeline to Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang International Airports to prepare the infrastructure to support the production and usage of SAF, which will help create economic opportunities and establish a clean energy leader in Southeast Asia. Bangchak has invested in developing SAF production from used cooking oil through BSGF Co., Ltd. with a value of over 8.5 billion baht. The construction of the SAF production unit in the Bangchak Refinery, Phra Khanong, is proceeding according to plan and will start production in early Q2 2025 with a production capacity of 1 million liters per day.
