Bangkok: "Phonpeer" continues his work at the Bang Khla Jewish cemetery. "Pholpeer" continues to discuss and finalize the investigation results of four bodies found at the Bang Khla Jewish cemetery in Chachoengsao province. Three of the deceased were Israeli nationals reported dead in Chonburi, while the fifth, a British national, was found to have overstayed his visa. An investigation into the relationships of the Thai nationals who reported the deaths has been ordered, and a request has been made to extend the time for moving the bodies by seven days.
According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Interior Minister Phonphir Suwannachavi held an online meeting to follow up on the progress after inspecting a Jewish cemetery in Bang Khla District, Chachoengsao Province on September 11, 2026. Representatives from Chachoengsao Province included the Governor, the Provincial Permanent Secretary, the Provincial Land Officer, the Provincial Local Government Officer, the Provincial Natural Resources Officer, and the Bang Khla District Chief. Representatives from the Department of Provincial Administration, such as Mr. Wirun Sitthiwong, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration, and Police Lieutenant Colonel Singkham Khamyod, Director of the Investigation and Legal Affairs Division, were also present.
Reporters have stated that initial reports indicate that three of the deceased are Israeli nationals, with deaths reported in Chonburi province. The fifth is a British national. Two of the four (one British and one Israeli) were found to have overstayed their visas in Thailand. Two of them (Israeli and British) entered Thailand on 60-day tourist visas, one (Israeli) on a 30-day tourist visa, and the third (Israeli) on a non-1-year visa.
The relatives of all four bodies had initially contacted the authorities to request their transportation. However, the company, Gan Chabad, later announced its intention to transport the four bodies itself. The relatives requested a 7-day extension for the body transfer to prepare a new location. Mr. Polpeer has ordered further investigation into the relationship between the two of the three Thai individuals who reported the deaths, to determine their connection to the deceased or whether they are employees of Gan Chabad.
Regarding the application to establish a cemetery, from today's meeting and information from the province, it can be observed that the application for permission to establish the cemetery in 2021 was not in accordance with regulations from the beginning. Therefore, the refusal to renew the license in 2023 was correct. Furthermore, a review of past geographical data strongly suggests that the issuance of the cemetery permit in 2021 was irregular from the outset.
