Assault and Abduction Incident on Ratchaphruek Road: Police Summon Suspects for Questioning

Nonthaburi: A 27-year-old man has been left with severe injuries following a brutal assault by a group of men who subsequently abducted his girlfriend in a silver pickup truck. The incident, captured on CCTV, took place in a parking lot at an apartment building on Ratchaphruek Road in the Om Kret Subdistrict of Nonthaburi Province.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sarawut, the victim, was assaulted by a group of six men, including one who arrived on a motorcycle. The attack resulted in Mr. Sarawut suffering from brain swelling, a fractured eye socket requiring surgery, and multiple stitches. Following the attack, the perpetrators continued to harass Mr. Sarawut at his residence and workplace. Police investigators from Chaiyaphruek Police Station have since summoned the suspects, as well as seized the vehicles involved, for further questioning.

Mr. Sarawut recounted that he had been in a relationship with Ms. Duean for two months prior to the attack. On the day of the incident, as they were heading to the parking lot, a group of men intercepted them, assaulted him, and abducted Ms. Duean. Despite his severe injuries, Mr. Sarawut managed to report the incident to the police and is now recovering, albeit with fears of being targeted again.

Mr. Boo, identified as Ms. Duean's husband, admitted to being involved in the assault. He explained that he recently discovered his wife's affair with Mr. Sarawut, who works at the same gas station as Ms. Duean. Mr. Boo and his friends, now feeling remorseful, have expressed their willingness to negotiate and resolve the matter. The police, having gathered initial statements and evidence, are preparing to lay formal charges against the perpetrators.
