Arrest of Cambodian Soldier Linked to Hun Sen’s Bodyguard Unit in Thailand


Buriram: Police from Lamduan Police Station in Buriram Province have arrested a Cambodian soldier associated with Prime Minister Hun Sen’s bodyguard unit, known as BHQ. The soldier is currently undergoing intense interrogation amid suspicions of infiltrating Thailand to monitor its activities.

According to Thai News Agency, the arrest took place at a residence in Krasang District, which the soldier claimed belonged to his Thai wife. However, local authorities remain skeptical of his intentions, suspecting that he might have been acting as an infiltrator to observe and potentially report on the movements of Thai soldiers and security forces back to Cambodia. This situation has raised concerns about national security.

A photograph has emerged showing the man in military attire, complete with a vest and hat bearing the BHQ insignia, confirming his association with the “Hun Sen” bodyguard unit. As the investigation continues, officials have yet to disclose further details, with both the commander and security a
