AOT Refutes Cambodian Media Claims of Passenger Mistreatment at Bangkok Airport

Bangkok: Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) has firmly rejected recent reports from Cambodian media alleging mistreatment of European passengers at Bangkok's airport, asserting that no baggage was lost and that passenger services adhered to international standards.

According to Thai News Agency, Cambodian media reported on December 18, 2025, that the Cambodian Embassy in France issued a travel warning about transiting through Bangkok, Thailand. The reports claimed that European passengers faced rigorous and inappropriate scrutiny, including prolonged questioning before boarding, demands for unreasonable proof of financial status, detailed checks of accommodation bookings in Cambodia, and incidents of lost luggage.

AOT has refuted these claims, emphasizing its commitment to excellent service and passenger care. The organization prioritizes convenience alongside security, adhering to international standards. This involves robust baggage tracking and complaint handling systems designed to provide a smooth and efficient travel experience, reinforcing Thailand's reputation as a global travel hub. AOT also expressed its willingness to collaborate with relevant agencies both domestically and internationally to enhance understanding and confidence in Thailand's air travel system.

AOT further clarified that all six of its airports strictly follow standard procedures and regulations to ensure the security of passengers and baggage. These airports have undergone inspections to meet international aviation standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), ensuring safety and security for all passengers.
