Anutin Redirects Questions on SRT Governor’s Resignation to Ekniti

Bangkok: Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul declined to answer questions regarding the resignation of State Railway of Thailand (SRT) Governor Veerit Amrapal. He cited the issue as a cause of the resignation, pointing to contract disputes involving the high-speed rail project connecting three airports (Don Mueang, Suvarnabhumi, and U-Tapao) and the lawsuit over the revocation of the Khao Kradong land plot. Anutin stated that the matter should be addressed to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ekniti Nitithanpraphat.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin avoided providing any additional details or personal insights on the circumstances leading to Veerit Amrapal’s resignation. Instead, he redirected inquiries to Ekniti Nitithanpraphat, suggesting that the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance would be better suited to handle questions about the ongoing disputes and legal issues associated with the high-profile rail project and land case.
