Anutin plans to visit the border areas next week to instruct local governments on managing the needs of villagers, aiming to alleviate the military's burden.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin addressed the current tensions at the border, which is already under martial law. The responsibility for maintaining sovereignty lies with the Second Army Region Commander, who declared martial law. Anutin emphasized the importance of sound judgment in maintaining Thailand's sovereignty.
When questioned about the necessity of a military response, Anutin affirmed that the government is fully prepared to support the military. He stated that his visit next week will involve coordinating with administrative sectors to address civilian concerns, emphasizing that the military's role is to protect sovereignty, especially in cases of troop movements or provocations. This coordination aims to allow the military sufficient time to prepare and respond effectively.
Anutin acknowledged the constant tension at the border and affirmed that the military is well-prepared. He noted the importance of readiness, stating, "Even if you want peace, prepare to fight back."
