Ms. Traisuree Traisaranakul, spokeswoman for the Ministry of Interior, said that today (23 Oct. 67) at 11:00 a.m., Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, led a group to pay a courtesy call on Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the Peace Palace, Government House, Phnom Penh, on the occasion of Mr. Anutin leading the group to attend the 8th Meeting of the Governors of the Thai-Cambodian Border Provinces. Mr. Anutin said that this visit brought good wishes from Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, to the Prime Minister of Cambodia and her entourage, to confirm the good wishes between the two countries. Ms. Paethongtarn sent a visit and said that at the appro priate opportunity, the Prime Minister will travel to Cambodia himself because he already has a plan to visit. With the good relations between the two sides, the Thai government is determined to push for cooperation in all dimensions to achieve the objectives and is confident that with strong relations in diplomacy, military and border economy, all cooperation will be successful. 'Cambodia and Thailand have similar cultures. We will use this opportunity to expand and develop culture, creating the same foundation as a good soft power together to benefit the economy, tourism, and create jobs and careers for the people of both countries,' said Mr. Anutin. Samdech Maha Boworathibodi Hun Manet thanked the Thai Deputy Prime Minister for leading the delegation to visit and said that he was aware of the 8th meeting of the Thai-Cambodian Border Governors to be held on October 24. He was willing to help to make the discussions on all issues successful, especially the issue of strict compliance with the law, and woul d cooperate with the Thai authorities in combating crime and other illegal activities. The Cambodian Prime Minister said that after having a bilateral meeting with Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister of Thailand during the ASEAN Summit in Vientiane, Lao PDR, he is waiting for the Thai Prime Minister to visit Cambodia officially to continue the cooperation on the issues discussed to be tangible. And with the good relations on the border, it is possible to develop border trade to be a mutual strength, especially the development of Nong Ian-Stung Bot checkpoint to create participation and benefit the people of both sides.
