Bangkok:Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul attended the birthday celebration of Buriram United Football Club president, Newin Chidchob. Anutin confirmed that he attends this event annually, noting it involves religious ceremonies and a local ritual called the "Pakam Chang" ceremony, describing the occasion as a normal interaction between them since they are like brothers.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin addressed comments made during the celebration about being tired of his role as Prime Minister. He explained that his remark was just playful banter with Newin, who had expressed a wish for Anutin to serve as Prime Minister for two more terms. Anutin emphasized that there were no issues between them, and the comments were not meant to be taken seriously.
When asked if he was genuinely tired of being Prime Minister, Anutin responded with a smile and a soft chuckle, avoiding a direct answer. He dismissed concerns about potential public criticism or opposition attacks, stating that such matters are not significant. Anutin remarked, "People with a lot of free time think up all sorts of things. How could it be an issue? I've been there every year since I can remember. It's a family matter."
