Anutin Deploys Volunteer Defense Forces to Aid Flood-Hit Communities

Nan: Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has directed the deployment of volunteer defense forces to assist those impacted by recent disasters, ensuring their safety.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin, also serving as the Minister of Interior and Commander of the Volunteer Defense Corps, instructed key officials to dispatch 100 members of the Volunteer Defense Corps from Nan Province's 1st Company and nearby districts. These members are working alongside local administration, military, and police forces to support flood-affected residents in Pua District.

Throughout the night, volunteer defense corps members were active in Tha Wang Pha and Mueang Nan districts. Their efforts focused on evacuating vulnerable groups, including bedridden patients and the elderly, moving personal belongings, and transporting individuals to disaster relief shelters. The teams also provided security and facilitated the delivery of essential supplies to these shelters.

The Volunteer Defense Corps Command, in collaboration with the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, has been closely monitoring the situation. They have instructed regional Volunteer Defense Corps units to remain ready to offer support, ensuring the public's safety and expediting evacuations as needed, in line with directives from the Commander of the Volunteer Defense Corps.
