According to Thai News Agency, Anutin Charnvirakul affirmed his willingness to explain the process behind every position transfer, particularly addressing doubts about the Inspector General of the Ministry of Interior. He dismissed the notion of it being a "deserted" position and highlighted that performance would be the key factor in determining roles. During the address, he thanked retiring executives, including high-ranking officials such as the Director-General of the Department of Lands and several provincial governors, acknowledging their service and encouraging them to continue contributing their expertise.
Anutin further elaborated on the responsibilities of inspectors, stating that they should report directly to him and move away from the perception of being merely sidelined. He encouraged officials to embrace their roles and produce results, emphasizing the importance of rotation based on performance. Anutin assured that he harbors no resentment and is always open to discussions, urging officials to ask questions if there are uncertainties about transfers.
Anutin also addressed criticism from parliament concerning allegations of collusion in Senate elections involving the Bhumjaithai Party. He acknowledged that some believe these allegations but refrained from commenting on the Election Commission's minority opinion regarding prosecution. Additionally, Anutin discussed the response from the National Police Chief concerning accusations against Mr. Thongjuea Chatkitjaroen related to local government exam corruption but chose not to disclose further details.
In other matters, Anutin is preparing to engage with former US President Donald Trump to discuss the fulfillment of promised special tax rates. He mentioned ongoing tariff negotiations with the United States, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Supajee Suthamphan, which are nearing conclusion. Anutin intends to hold further discussions with US trade representatives to finalize these negotiations and explore opportunities for Thailand regarding special tariff rates as previously mentioned by the US President.
