Buriram: Anutin Charnvirakul visited Buriram province to offer support and encouragement to villagers in evacuation centers. Anutin Charnvirakul, who serves as both Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, visited an evacuation center in Buriram Province to inspect the readiness of facilities set up for citizens affected by the situation on the Thai-Cambodian border at the Chang International Circuit evacuation center.
According to Thai News Agency, upon arrival, the Prime Minister greeted the people in the evacuation center, inspected their living conditions and supplies, and joined volunteers in preparing food at the food service point. He participated in preparing fried mussels and papaya salad, which were then distributed to the people. Anutin also inspected the first-aid station of Ban Kruat Hospital, which was providing services to the public, and joined a group of volunteer musicians who were entertaining the villagers at the shelter.
Mr. Anutin stated in an interview that the management of the shelters has improved significantly this time due to enhanced operations to care for those staying there, ensuring their safety. He emphasized that keeping people in safe areas allows the military and police to fully respond and protect sovereignty. He acknowledged the longing of evacuees for their homes but stressed the importance of staying in the evacuation centers to ensure the highest level of safety. He assured that food, clothing, and daily necessities would be mobilized to make them feel at home.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude towards volunteers and private entities for their contributions, and highlighted the efforts of the Ministry of Interior and provincial governors in managing high-risk areas. He urged the evacuees to remain patient, as entering the area remains dangerous. The government will allow them to return only when safety is assured. If the situation remains perilous, staying at the shelters would be advised.
