Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, confirmed the immediate implementation of Phase 2 of the "Half-Price" scheme while clarifying the current status of cabinet position negotiations. He stated that no negotiations have commenced regarding ministerial positions as the party awaits final figures before making any decisions.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin revealed that the recent meeting with 193 prospective Bhumjaithai MPs was productive. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a unified identity, warning members against forming factions and urging them to resolve any issues related to shares and concessions. Anutin underscored that MPs should focus on serving the people without expectations of personal gain.
Anutin addressed questions regarding the party's internal instructions, highlighting the need for MPs to clear any media or concession shares before assuming office. He stressed that Bhumjaithai Party members should not engage in activities detrimental to their roles as public servants.
When questioned about ongoing negotiations for ministerial positions, Anutin confirmed that discussions have not yet begun. He also mentioned the necessity of addressing MOU 44, which he has instructed to be revoked promptly.
Anutin distanced himself from the collapse of a billion-baht dome in Bang Phli, clarifying his lack of involvement with Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction Public Company Limited for over two decades. Additionally, he commented on potential alliances with smaller political parties, noting that while he has yet to meet them directly, senior Bhumjaithai members are coordinating communications.
Regarding the formation of a coalition government, Anutin emphasized the need for a strong and stable administration and reiterated his stance against supporting parties with questionable financial backgrounds. He assured that the party would heed the people's voice in making decisions.
Anutin also discussed the "Half-Price Plus" Phase 2 project, reiterating its necessity and urging for its swift implementation. He highlighted the project's potential to stimulate the economy, suggesting that subsequent phases should follow if the public response remains positive.
