Bangkok: Anusorn Iamsaard, a Pheu Thai Party list MP, has publicly criticized Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul over indications of a possible parliamentary dissolution ahead of an anticipated no-confidence motion from the opposition. Anusorn argues that such a move would violate the Memorandum of Understanding (MoA) established with opposition parties and could lead to national instability.
According to Thai News Agency, Anusorn expressed concerns that dissolving parliament to escape a censure debate would undermine agreements and create uncertainty for the country. He further criticized the existing minority government arrangement, highlighting that it appears to benefit only those involved in its formation and questioning whether supporting parties were complicit in or unaware of any deception regarding the government's promises.
Anusorn pointed out that the minority government has been unable to fulfill its commitments, such as amending the constitution, holding a referendum, or addressing issues like grey capital and scammers. He emphasized that the Pheu Thai Party is prepared to hold the government accountable through a censure debate. Nonetheless, he warned that if the government opts to dissolve parliament instead, the supporting parties must shoulder responsibility before the public, as the current political deal seems to advantage only a select few.
