Bangkok: "Phumtham" believes the amnesty bill will not touch Section 112 and will not cause a loss of mass support. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and a leader of the Pheu Thai Party, addressed concerns regarding the proposed amnesty bill, clarifying that it will not affect Section 112 of the Criminal Code. He assured that the proposal would not lead to a loss of support for the Pheu Thai Party. According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phumtham emphasized that maintaining the coalition parties' position is crucial, and the decision to propose the bill aligns with the unified stance of the political parties that formed the current government. He reiterated that the coalition was established on a foundation of mutual agreement and without preconditions, which includes upholding the proposed amnesty bill's current form.
