Bangkok: "Aitim," a significant political figure, has taken responsibility on the one-year anniversary of the vote for Anutin Charnvirakul, acknowledging that the public has expressed their dissatisfaction through the election results. He intends to utilize the remaining three years of his term to address the aftermath of the election and firmly denies any negligence regarding the investigation into alleged collusion among senators.
According to Thai News Agency, Parit Wacharasindhu, a list MP from the People's Party, commented on former Red Shirt leader Nattawut Saikua's remark that the Memorandum of Agreement between the People's Party and the Bhumjaithai Party might only materialize in a century. Parit candidly admitted that the anniversary marks a year since a poor decision was made, resulting in electoral punishment from the public. He emphasized that it is the responsibility of everyone in the People's Party to acknowledge this mistake and work towards resolving the subsequent issues.
Responding to inquiries about the lack of investigation into senator collusion during the initial phases, Parit highlighted that Dr. Wayo Asavarungruang, a list MP and deputy leader of the People's Party, had already addressed and scrutinized the matter during a government policy debate, shortly after the prime ministerial vote. He acknowledged that the decision made then might have had negative repercussions but reiterated the importance of taking responsibility and working towards solutions.
Parit expressed his commitment to his role as a Member of Parliament, stating, "I consider myself entrusted with the position of Member of Parliament, with approximately three years remaining. I believe that a part of my duties over the next three years will be to address the problems that arose from the three-second roll call on that day."
