Bangkok:Mr. Wauter van Wersk, Executive Vice President for International Affairs of Airbus, and Mr. Bert Porterman, Airbus Representative in Thailand, met with Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, at Government House to discuss expanding cooperation in aviation, aerospace technology, human resource development, and clean energy.
According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister praised the existing cooperation between Airbus and Thailand, particularly in job creation and skills development within the aviation industry. He encouraged Airbus to further expand collaboration by leveraging successful models from other countries to boost investment, facilitate technology transfer, and enhance the development of Thai human resources.
In the realm of clean energy, the Prime Minister suggested that Airbus promote the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) derived from Thai agricultural raw materials. This initiative aims to cut greenhouse gas emissions from the aviation sector while creating new markets and adding value to Thai agricultural products.
Airbus plans to establish a Center of Excellence in Thailand, serving as a hub for knowledge, technology, and human resource development. This center will link Thailand to Airbus's global network, providing opportunities for Thai personnel to acquire advanced technological skills.
Additionally, the Prime Minister proposed expanding cooperation in space technology and security with Thai agencies such as GISTDA and Thaicom Public Company Limited. The focus would be on knowledge transfer, technology sharing, and human resource development to bolster Thailand's space sector capabilities.
Discussions also covered the development of the aviation industry and related services, including potential cooperation with Thai Airways Public Company Limited, to support the industry's growth and Thailand's ambition to become a regional aviation hub.
