Hat yai: The Police Hospital's repatriation center and ambulance have undertaken a critical mission to airlift patients from Hat Yai Hospital to the 42nd Military Circle, while simultaneously delivering essential medical supplies and oxygen to Pattani Hospital. This operation comes in response to the severe flood situation in Songkhla Province, which has significantly hampered access to medical treatment and impacted public health.
According to Thai News Agency, the Police General Hospital, under the leadership of Pol. Lt. Gen. Paiboon Chiam-anukulkit, M.D., has mobilized its resources following the directives of Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phanphet, the National Police Chief. The hospital has deployed two teams of aviation medical doctors and nurses, comprising four personnel, to facilitate patient transport. Additionally, two teams specializing in tertiary level emergency medical operations (POLICE - MERT) have been dispatched to provide medical care to those affected by the floods, along with a team from the Institute of Forensic Medicine for personal identification tasks.
The operation was spearheaded by Pol. Maj. Gen. Ekkalak Deerungroj, who coordinated the airlifting of five patients from Hat Yai Hospital to the 42nd Military Circle. The patients included three classified as red cases, indicating critical condition, and two as yellow cases, denoting a serious but less critical status. Furthermore, medical supplies, including dialysis fluid and oxygen, were urgently transported from the Songkhla Air Force Base to Pattani Hospital to ensure the continued care of patients.
This concerted effort by the Police General Hospital underscores the importance of coordinated emergency response in times of natural disasters, ensuring that critical medical needs are met despite challenging circumstances.
