Adminstrative order demanding 35 billion baht compensation from Yingluck officially signed

The administrative order demanding 35 billion baht compensation for damages to the state by the rice-pledging scheme from former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra has been officially signed.

According to Ministry of Finance, the order was co-signed last week by the deputy finance minister Visut Srisuphan, and the permanent secretary Somchai Sujjapongse.

Ms Yingluck was demanded to pay 20% of the total damages of 178 billion baht from her rice-pledging scheme.

An official notification of the compensation payment will be submitted to Ms Yingluck in one to two weeks.

Upon receiving the notification, Ms Yingluck can petition the compensation demand to the Administrative Court.
