Abhisit Vejjajiva Criticizes Government’s Draft Policy for Lack of Clarity

Bangkok: Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party, has strongly criticized the government's draft policy, labeling it as "broad, unclear, and lacking many things." He is preparing a team of five key figures from his party to launch a comprehensive critique in parliament.

According to Thai News Agency, Abhisit expressed that while the policy statement delineates the current situation and presents modern ideas, the section on "practical policies" remains overly broad and lacks the necessary clarity to achieve the proposed goals. He pointed out that the policies currently highlighted in the media are deficient in significant details. The opposition, he noted, is armed with in-depth information to dissect these issues during the forthcoming parliamentary debate.

In anticipation of the parliamentary session, the Democrat Party has tasked 4-5 key figures with dedicating about an hour to rigorously question and scrutinize the government's policies. This team, led by Abhisit, includes Mr. Korn Chatikavanij, Ms. Kardee Leowpairoj, Mr. Sathit Wongnongteuy, and Mr. Chaichana Dejdecho. Their objective is to pinpoint the shortcomings that the government may have overlooked, thereby protecting the interests of the populace and establishing a standard of scrutiny consistent with the Democrat Party's new institutional approach.
