“1 Baht per Durian” Promotion Draws Crowds to Jae Da’s Fruit Shop

Lopburi: The "1 Baht per Durian" promotion at Jae Da's Fruit Shop has become a massive attraction, with throngs of customers eager to take advantage of the unique offer. The promotion allows customers to buy one durian and receive a coupon to purchase another for just one baht. This has led to such high demand that the shop's supply of durians is struggling to keep pace, prompting vendors to also offer other fruits.

According to Thai News Agency, the bustling market featuring these discounted durians isn't just any durian market. It's the brainchild of Ms. Amita, affectionately known as "Jae Da, the Fruit Racer," located at the Z-ONE market in Tha Sala Subdistrict, Mueang Lopburi District. Jae Da sources her durians directly from farmers, positioning her business as a long-standing intermediary that procures durians from across the country.

This batch is being sold at prices of 59 baht, 69 baht, or 79 baht per kilogram, with the enticing promotion of acquiring a small, high-quality durian for just one baht with each purchase. This strategy has been met with overwhelming enthusiasm from durian enthusiasts, creating a vibrant and lively market atmosphere. The rapid ripening of the durians has even led the shop to supplement its offerings with other popular fruits from the eastern region, such as rambutan, lychee, and mangosteen, to cater to the customer influx.

Jae Da has implemented a system of 200 queue tickets per day, with the promotion running until May 4th. She encourages durian lovers passing through Lopburi to take advantage of this opportunity, emphasizing her commitment to providing quality durians at affordable prices. Additionally, customers can exchange any unripe durians immediately, ensuring satisfaction and quality assurance.
